That Little Tigress

Started by sidin · 6 months ago

It was one of those dinners that happen way too infrequently nowadays.
Fungus was there. The author and the missus. Pastrami completed the four-umvirate even though he was only half the man he is normally. Bags under his eyes. Shoulders slumped in exhaustion. Mouth pursed in that weird way of thos ... Continue reading »

God bless Pastrami. May 2008 be his year with the ladies.

  • Great one, Sidin... love the Krakatoa Pompeii bit ;-) And like your wife, I go ga-ga over the red curry @ Tamnak Thai as well :-)
  • Let us all humbly pray for the same...
  • GOK? What is GOK Arpz?
  • How dare you laugh at my predicament. It still hurts...
  • hahahah, good stuff!

Being a relatively new reader of your blog (but completely addicted nevertheless, c'est true) I initially wondered whether there was fungus on the pastrami you and your wife were eating at a dinner!

Also, good you linked to older posts, good on you for poking him in the eye with your stylus, as much as I like Investment Bankers, every now & then, they need that!
  • Bleargh.

    Life and death situ.

And you , my dearest brother, tag this Office humour.

Poor Pastrami.... (ooohhh... PP...like Perversy perverson)

    Paavam Pastrami

    Office humour.

    Meh.

    Well written post.
  • .. were the aftershocks of the meeting ( with client CEO) aka Krakatoa as well? Hopefully not.

and my mind has been doing some callisthenics trying to figure out what particular pose the “Little tigress” was shot in
  • You should ask Pastrami about it.

    Okay maybe not.
  • as an aside, i spent most of my life in advertising till last year, and in situations such as this, the whole meeting would have shifted to the screen saver ( the client ceo) and merits and demerits of tigress vis-a-vis sherni would have been trashed out in great detail.

hmmmm...maybe thats the reason investment bankers get paid more money than agency people.
  • maybe not indeed!
  • LOL, not only the adv guys each one of us has had these moments of err umm drifting apart :) May God be with Pastrami. Tell him our prayers are with him... BTW, I guess the CEO would have turned turnip too.

P.S: One explanation puhleej. If Pastrami was the ONLY one who could see the screen saver how did the boss realise what he was referring to as indicated in the car convo? :D
  • fantastic post! That pic brought back memories of Pam Anderson and Jeena lee nolin on star.
baywatch was surely a revolutionary tv series!
  • Poor Pastrami.....How come you guys didn't burst out laughing when he said that? LOL.
  • yeah i would like to call it mba jargon...dont knw wot else to call it!! I'm in Corp Comm....read abt ur blog in an article in the Hindu....the one abt dumb mistakes and young managers...the one whr u didn't think v highly of Corp Comm :)
  • if i may, GOK=God Only Knows..
way back when i was in 6th std, this particular acronym was the fundoo word in school..

history teacher: sher shah suri- in which year he ruled ??
    ME: GOK

hot discussion amongst the boys after PT
why did ashok enter the girls' toilet ? (note: nobody used firangee words like restroom, bathroom et al..
he says" it was urgent and didnt see the board.. GOK..

Understood SID,... IN ABU DHABI it would ve been AOK... allah only knows
  • have been your admirer for long, not only for your brand of humour which i think is similar to mine(without the fame and 100 blog comments per article of course). But i admire your ability to find humour in small things and your balls to do what you do.
    Kudos da.
  • Damn! If only I had observant friends like Pastrami.
  • Thai green curry and steamed rice. The missus, another veggie but one bored of Thai green curry all the time, demanded a change. She ordered a refreshingly different Thai red curry.

    These veggies I tell you…

:D .....mooh ki baat cheen li...these veggies dont have much choise...
    ..
    neway..gr8 post again..

  • Well.....somehow i can so relate (in a weird way thgh) to Pastrami...(btw....that strange name also reminded me of food! :|) anyways...there was this 1 time in a similar packed conf. room...with almost similar kinda ppl surrounding me...(almost? well! we ppl in advtg. are neva alike any1 on this earth, or so we think!:D) ok b4 i wander...i wud like to finish, so here i was supposedly to jot down the highlights n key points abt the ppt being made and there i was busy watching 2 flies making out on the brim of my boss's coffee mug...trust me...it was quiet a learning process and also very exhilarating too...(considering she took a sip of coffee rite afta that!!)
  • well somehow i u neva cease to make me laugh mate. i kinda sympathsize with pastrami. guys I did burst out laughing when he said
  • when you say Fungus, do u mean Rajjat Guklathi, who is currently in delhi, trying to cook up (ha!) excuses for not being able to open a restaurant?
