My WIFE OF A YEAR AND FIVE MONTHS is sitting right next to me. We intend to SPEND THE ENTIRE TRIP READING BOOKS and in QUIET PERSONAL INTROSPECTION.

Pastrami: What the… Stop talking in upper case goddamit!"

This was funny but I can relate to it as hubby and I don't look our age. People feel we are college kids when actually he is 31 and I am nearing 30. So, I often talk in uppercase about our marital status. :-)

Re: August Kranti Rajdhani Express: WL/Regret

Sid,

This may sound cliched..however I am going to cave in and say it..If you ever write a book I will buy it..Kettooo!

Keep writing and if it takes a kilo of Biltong to do it, I am ready to go in search of some receipies here...

Suresh

Re: August Kranti Rajdhani Express: WL/Regret

superb writing ... the "seasonal" dahi hundy pun was awesome !!!

Re: August Kranti Rajdhani Express: WL/Regret

Gud one...Abhijeet has a nice style of writing,he cud always try writing short stories for kids :D

Re: August Kranti Rajdhani Express: WL/Regret

Nice Post - reads even better in Google Chrome
Much respect for the dahi-handy and wadala jokes!
And did you mean gravitas when you wrote about Pico Iyer?

Re: August Kranti Rajdhani Express: WL/Regret

Sidin,

Keep it going man.

I remember getting caught in a train in a similar situation. The snorer was the only guy to sleep in our compartment and it kept us all awake. His snore was like one of those Brahmos missiles.

Consider joining a gym.It is one of those places where you can be w(f)itness to more fun like this.

Re: August Kranti Rajdhani Express: WL/Regret

too funny... esp the vivid descriptions of the snore, and the in-laws feeding!!! :P hehe

Re: August Kranti Rajdhani Express: WL/Regret

I have reviewed this post on StumbleUpon!

Re: August Kranti Rajdhani Express: WL/Regret

Good humorous post! Nice one. Had the misfortune of travelling home in a not so neat Chennai-Alleppey last week. There was no snoring marathon around, but there was a cranky fan which kept everyone up till somebody switched it off. Unfortuately, I must add, since it was a pretty humid trip.

The conversation about the "dinner" at the in-laws was funny. But at least, it's vegetarian and can't be that fattening. My mom always have a ton of chicken ready whenever I go home. ;)

Re: August Kranti Rajdhani Express: WL/Regret

Yeah, actually! Used to string them on this steel rod and hang it above the kitchen fireplace. There is something abt food cooked on firewood. The beef treated with masala, salt and pepper and sun dried . Then smoked for a week. Then this is beated on the grinding stone and fried. That with red boiled rice and salted whole mango pickle with a dash of homemade ghee. And ammachy used to serve hot ghee spiced with baby onions.
Now where will i go for that flavor of smoked beef. My ammachy died 12 years back.

Re: August Kranti Rajdhani Express: WL/Regret

Promises!!!
