thank god my parents named me suhas and not the typical mallu name...iam a half hindu,half muslim brought up in bellary,karnataka near the andhra border,so i know all the south indian languages...mom is a nair from kerala and dad is a muslim from trichy...my mom's mom wanted to name me suhas and my dad's mom wanted to name me tanveer,thank god both were cool names..finally my ammamma won and named me suhas...iam pretty sure that tamil,telugu and kannada people have very long and odd names than mallu counterparts..mallu names are more modern nowadays....article was awesome...really funny..

(Clue: Bovine excrement) ... now I wonder if that kind of name would be a deterrent to a girl - especially if she is going to get stuck with it in case things get serious and she ends up marrying the guy.

Ermm....nope, this doesn't count in all the problems. Nomenclature is just a tiny botheration at the end of the spectrum. I suppose, the women have the horrendous fear of being labelled 'loose' if they follow their heart and the guys are of course terrified by the prospect of getting rejected over and over again. Well, you have to also consider the varied anthropological samples existing which are different in metros and smaller towns.

The only people who are indeed getting some is happening behind the scenes where noone is watching. I hope you guys are hearing about the fathers raping their daughters and selling them to other males as well(kerala). It's all a nightmare I tells ya. It's kind of ironic that South Indian men also never get any unless their parents pimp them into arranged marriages.

Shhh. Don't talk about sex guise. Work your ass off to buy stuff you don't need and hope to god your life is 'arranged' to be with a female sometime before the world ends.

What's in a name, you ask? Apparently everything! :) Great read, but I'd like to say that some South Indian women are woefully named too (my grandmother wanted to name me Mugilaveni, thanks to my Mum, I escaped) - I've come across, Tamizhselvi Ranganathan, Alagarasi Murthy, and what not.
